Genetics & Breeding This strain was developed by crossing Sour Diesel with an Afghani Gold x Hawaiian hybrid to produce NYC Diesel, which was then refined using Northern Light Special genetics to enhance productivity and improve bud density.

Spliff Diesel exhibits two phenotypes. The first resembles a classic Sativa, displaying elongated leaves and stretched flower clusters. The second phenotype leans toward Indica characteristics, featuring a compact frame, bushier growth pattern, and broader leaflets.

The plant displays vigorous growth during the vegetative phase and typically reaches considerable height with prominent internodal spacing. Sugar-coated flowers develop along extended branches, though they can retain a lighter, airier texture. Individual buds grow substantially large with minimal leaf coverage. The foliage displays a deep forest green hue, complemented by bright orange stigmas. The flowering form proves substantial enough that structural support may be necessary during maturation. Supercropping is highly recommended and can produce four to five exceptionally large main colas. Keep the vegetative stage brief—ideally 2-3 weeks—and provide continuous lighting during this period.

Expect a bold aromatic profile combining zesty citrus undertones, grapefruit notes, and pungent diesel characteristics. The smoke delivers a bright, tart grapefruit flavor with pronounced fruitiness.
