Phenotypic variation includes both vibrant green specimens with striking orange pistils and darker expressions displaying deep purple coloration throughout the leaf and calyx tissue.

The selected phenotypes, v139 and v79, were analyzed for potential. The v139 line was chosen for release based on superior productivity, flower structure, preserved apple characteristics, and enhanced maroon and purple coloration.
