Coco Mix is the drainage-heavy blend in Advanced Nutrients' Coco Cultivator range: 50% coco coir, 30% perlite and 20% pebble clay. The clay is what sets it apart from a standard coir-and-perlite mix.
Those two additions do different jobs. The perlite opens the medium up for air; the pebble clay holds structure so the mix does not pack down over a long flower. Advanced Nutrients pitch it at growers who want drainage and root structure rather than maximum water holding — the other two blends in the range go the other way, with Coco Pure at 100% coir and Coco Plus at 70% coir and 30% perlite.
The Coco Cultivator range is RHP-certified. Pick this one if you water often and small; pick a wetter blend if you would rather not.
