Insect Frass

Dr. Greenthumbs Insect Frass is an insect excrement-based organic soil amendment, providing the same beneficial effects as similar frass products: natural chitin that triggers plant immune responses, diverse organic nutrients, and beneficial microbial populations from the insect farming process.

Insect frass works through multiple mechanisms: the chitin content activates the plant's systemic acquired resistance (SAR), mimicking a pest attack signal that primes natural defenses. The nutrient content provides gentle, slow-release NPK from the diverse organic matter. The microbial diversity from the farming environment enriches soil biology.

Mix into soil or top-dress at 1–3% by volume. Most effective in biologically active growing media.
