Clay Pebbles

VitaLink Clay Pebbles are expanded clay aggregate — lightweight, porous ceramic balls made by firing natural clay at high temperature. They're a fully inert growing medium with excellent drainage, high oxygen retention in the root zone, and indefinite reusability after washing and sterilization.

Clay pebbles are used as the primary growing medium in recirculating systems (DWC, ebb-and-flow, NFT), as a drainage layer in the bottom of containers, or mixed with coco or peat to improve aeration. Their structural rigidity keeps roots from compacting and their porosity allows air to reach roots between flood cycles or waterings.

Being completely inert, clay pebbles have no buffering capacity and don't contribute any nutrients — the entire nutritional program must come from the nutrient solution. Before first use, rinse and soak clay pebbles thoroughly to remove dust and adjust pH. After a grow, they can be cleaned, sterilized, and reused. Compatible with all hydroponic systems and nutrient programs.
