This variety traces back to legendary breeder DJ Short, who developed an impressive pedigree through careful crossbreeding. DJ Short initially created Purple Thai, an F1 hybrid combining Thai Chocolate and Highland Oaxaca Gold sativas. This strain introduced the characteristic purple, blue, and red hues found throughout the Blueberry family and numerous subsequent crosses.

DJ Short then crossed Purple Thai with Highland Thai, a Thai landrace variety prized for intense fruity characteristics and potent effects, producing Juicy Fruit. This hybrid was subsequently bred with pure Afghan genetics to reduce flowering duration and improve indoor cultivation suitability.

DJ Short transported Blueberry and related strains to Europe, initially establishing himself in Holland while collaborating with respected seed banks Sagarmatha and Dutch Passion. As regulatory conditions tightened, he relocated to Switzerland to work with breeder Steve at Spice Of Life.
