Gerrit from Magus Genetics created Double Dutch during the 2000s as a hybrid combining genetics from a Warlock male parent with a vintage Chronic female (pre-2000 cultivar).

The vegetative phase emphasizes the plant's Indica heritage, featuring broad foliage, sturdy branching structure, and dense lateral growth. Once flowering begins, Double Dutch shifts character to produce substantial Sativa-structured buds reminiscent of its female parent, the Chronic. Every light-exposed cola develops into oversized, compact flower clusters with a distinctive rounded, elongated form. The lateral branches develop such substantial density that structural support becomes necessary to prevent stress from their mass.
